Thick and Thin

Experimenting with the thickness of capitals.

The whole process of taking spoken language and turning it into marks
on a page that represent sounds is pretty fascinating.
Furthermore, even though these marks are vastly different,
we can still recognize them as letters of our alphabet and a code
we can interpret and read.

Here, one of the primary differences is the thickness of the letters.
By changing one simple parameter, the letters become vastly different.
This experimentation of pen width versus the height of the letter
is a common exploration for students of calligraphy.
