Title page from my new daily journal – Appreciative Inquiries
2017 is looking to be a year of appreciative inquiry, so naturally
I want to journal and write about it.
Appreciative inquiry is really a mindset –
a way of consciously looking at the world from an appreciative point of view.
It also suggests coming into a state of full awareness, which has been described by Jackie Stavros and Cheri Torres
(in their book Dynamic Relationships) like this:
Full awareness means being self-aware and socially aware. It means understanding yourself in relationship to others…Full awareness implies that the actions you take are considered and taken with appreciative intent to create positive relationships and vital organizations and communities. Full awareness allows you to recognize the value of reflection and action and the ability to reflect, act, and reflect again with new or beneficial insight that informs your next action.
This is something I’m planning on writing about this year,
so check back in the writing portion of this website to more thoughts that come up.
